Tasting Menu at @lerpwl

On Wednesday I went for the most beautiful lunch at @lerpwl – I’d not been for food here before so I didn’t know what to expect.

On arrival, I was shown to my seat which was right in front of the open kitchen, and it was mesmerising watching the Chefs at work during my visit.

The menu had a number of dishes to choose from, and the 5 courses for the tasting menu consisted of two from the snacks & Oysters section, two from the Plates and one dessert.

I got;

• Lerpwl Fried Chicken
• Mussel and Lamb Claw
• Herb-feb Chicken with Hen of the wood Mushrooms, local summer Cherry Tomato & Tarragon Sauce
• Dry Aged Aberdeen Angus Beef with Nasturtium Cream & Walnut Pepper sauce
• Mango Salsa with Mango Sorbet, puffed rice, shiso & Cheshire Saffron Custard.

The dishes here arrive as and when they are cooked, I loved this and I found that there was enough time in between each course for me to be ready for the next.

The food is served to you by a Chef directly who explains exactly what’s in each dish as it arrives. I’ve never been to a restaurant that works this way and it was so refreshing.

Each dish was superb. The Lerpwl Fried Chicken had a beautiful crispy coating with juicy chicken inside. The Herb-feb Chicken was surrounding by the lovely sauce which is served in a little dish so you can have as much or as little as you want and WOW..that Dry Aged Aberdeen Angus was the most perfect cut of Beef I’ve had. It was cooked medium-rare, which is the only way it should be done, in my eyes and the Pepper Sauce complimented it superbly.

Thank you so much for having me in @lerpwl – until next time!
